Annual General Meeting

DGT's Patron, the Countess of Arran, has graciously offered to host the 2015 AGM at Castle Hill, Filleigh, near Barnstaple on Wednesday 1st July 2015.  PLEASE SAVE THE DATE

Our Guest Speaker will be John Sales, who for 25 years was Chief Gardens Adviser at the National Trust until his retirement in 1998.  The title of his talk will be "Caring for Gardens".

The AGM will commence at 11a.m. and this will be followed by the guest speaker.  A buffet lunch will then be served.  

Tickets for members are priced at £15 (non-members £18.00) to include refreshments and lunch.  There is no cost to attend the AGM Business Meeting.  See booking information below.

Guests will be able to visit Castle Hill's wonderful grounds in the afternoon, including the newly restored Holwell Temple and the kennels.

The provisional itinerary for the AGM is as follows:

10.30h     Assemble with refreshments on arrival

11.00h     Welcome and AGM Business Meeting
The Business Meeting will include a report and resolution that "Devon Gardens Trust supports the proposed merger of the Association of Gardens Trust and the Garden History Society".  A vote of members will be taken at the AGM.  Members are encouraged to visit http://www.agt-ghstogether.org to learn more about the proposed merger.

11.45h     Talk by John Sales, "Caring for Gardens"

12.30h     Buffet Lunch

14.00h     Unescorted tour of the Castle Hill Gardens and self-guided visit to Holwell Temple

15.30h     Depart

Cost:  £15 (DGT members); £18 (non members of the DGT).  Attendance at the AGM is FREE for DGT members.
