ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING 2016
This year is the tercentenary of the birth of Lancelot ‘Capability’ Brown and Ugbrooke Park, home of the Clifford family since 1604, is the finest of the Brown-designed landscapes in the southwest.
Our guest speaker will be John Phibbs (pictured) who is internationally recognised as a leading expert on Brown and his talk – Capability Brown in the intractable hills of Devon - will compare the landscape at Ugbrooke with others that Brown was working on at the time. The fact that Brown’s influence on the landscape at Ugbrooke is still recognisable is due to the stewardship of generations of the Clifford family, and we are delighted that Lord Clifford has agreed to give a presentation on The development of the landscape at Ugbrooke. A buffet lunch will be served and members will be able to view the landscape. AGM papers and booking form are included with this Newsletter.
When: Saturday 9th July 2016 | 11a.m.-3p.m. (approx.)
Where: Ugbrooke Park, near Chudleigh, TQ13 0AD. Courtesy of Hon. Alexander Clifford.
