Country house on or near the site of an earlier manor house Built for John Pollexfen in c.1710 altered in 1872; restored and dining room wing added in 1922-25 by Sir Edwin Lutyens for Mr Alfred Mildmay. The surviving garden features include the raised terrace and C18 walled garden, an early C18 wall and wooden railings, gates and piers.
House Grade I, wooden railings, gates and piers listed Grade II, garden wall S of house listed Grade II*, kitchen garden wall, outbuilding 75m.E, cottages 83- 96, outbuildings NE of 90, pigsty SE of 96, bridge 290m.E, all listed Grade II.
