Two Devon Garden Trust Awards Given in December

We were pleased to make two awards at our Christmas event which acknowledge excellence and innovation in an historic landscape in Devon.

One award went to an early 20th century formal gardens and parkland, Wood, South Tawton. Designed and landscaped by Thomas Mawson, the owners and garden staff have, over a number of years, been restoring this Grade I listed landscape with attention to zero carbon soil improvement to mitigate the effects of climate change.

The other award was presented to the Oldway Gardens Volunteer Group who have been working to restore this important Grade II listed designed landscape designed by Achille Duchenne and have been resourceful in using semi-hardy sustainable planting.

Congratulations to both in helping to protect Devon's historic gardens.
