Government consultation on the GT's statutory consultee role now live

In March 2025 the government announced that it was considering removing the Gardens Trust's role as statutory consultee, a move which will put parks and gardens at greater risk of damage and total destruction.

The government public consultation on this proposal is now live and can be accessed at the link below, along with advice on how you can help us fight to retain our statutory consultee role.

Please do share this information and help us to raise awareness both of the important role of the County Gardens Trusts in recording, conserving and protecting our heritage, and of the threat that uncontrolled development poses if local planning authorities no longer have to consult the Gardens Trust.
