Former Chairman of the Association of Gardens Trusts and well known expert on Lancelot (Capability) Brown, Steffie Shields has been appointed as a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in the Queen's Birthday Honours 2018. Steffie is currently a Vice President of the Gardens Trust and author of the internationally acclaimed, "Moving Heaven and Earth: Capability Brown's Gift of Landscape" which was published in 2016. Steffie attended the Gardens Trust's annual conference held in Plymouth in 2017 and all of us at Devon Gardens Trust send her congratulations on this well deserved honour.
