Early C19 picturesque gardens, pleasure grounds, arboretum and woodlands for which Humphry Repton produced designs and a Red Book in 1814, with a series of early C19 landscape structures by Jeffry Wyatville. The grade I-listed garden at Endsleigh is Repton’s picturesque masterpiece, created as a hunting and fishing lodge for the sixth Duke of Bedford at the beginning of the 19th century. Jeffrey Wyatt designed Endsleigh House in the Cottage Orné style. The surrounding garden is a Grade I-listed garden and has often been described as one of the country’s most romantic gardens.
The 108-acre garden features formal gardens around the house, including a 330ft-long herbaceous border, a rose walk, a parterre, a gravity-fed fountain, a shell house and sweeping lawns that lead down to the River Tamar.
