We have the privilege of a visit to Wood at South Tawton. The Grade I registered gardens were designed by Thomas Mawson, one of the UK's most renowned landscape designers who worked from the late nineteenth century through to the 1930's. The DGT last visited Wood in 2018, since when the gardens have been undergoing careful restoration.
This is a unique opportunity to visit one of the country's most important gardens.
Our afternoon will begin with a talk on Thomas Mawson by Jonathan Lovie, the Trust's Conservation Officer. This will be followed by refreshments before we tour the gardens with the head gardener and her team.
Due to limited spaces for this tour, this event is restricted to DGT Members only. Please book early.
