Grants for Specialist Recording or Survey Work

Sometimes the understanding of the historic development of a designed landscape requires specialist survey or recording work (for example archaeological techniques like excavation or geophysical survey). The Trust therefore offers grants for such work at landscapes in Devon.

The Trust's criteria for project grants apply:

  • The project must be at a site in Devon on the Historic England Register of Parks and Gardens of Special Historic Interest or on the Devon Local List of Parks and Gardens of Local Historic Interest.
  • The applicant must be a registered charity whose objectives are similar to those of DGT (in exceptional circumstances DGT might consider an application from a non-charitable organisation, in which case DGT will weigh carefully the public benefit, public access and heritage value).
  • The amount of grant will depend on the scope of the work.

Grant applications may be made at any time and we encourage discussion with us in advance of submission. In the first instance contact us at [email protected]
